Dr. Tamara (Tammy) Chastain earned her veterinary degree in 2003 from Purdue University. She spent her first five years of practice in Sheridan, Indiana focusing on equine and small animal medicine. She joined Alexandria Animal Hospital in 2008. In early 2016, she had the opportunity to fulfill a long-time dream of becoming a practice owner and purchased Alexandria Animal Hospital from Dr. Larry Owen. Professionally, Dr Chastain serves as the central Indiana representative on the board for the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association.
Tammy grew up in Sullivan, Indiana and now lives in the Summitville area with her husband, and their three sons. Boxer (Callie), cats (Puddin', Fred, Cinnamon, and Oreo), and Arabian horses (Chip and Tilly) round out their family.
Outside of work, Dr. Chastain keeps busy supporting her boys in their various activities and helping her husband with the family farm. She is active in her church, and when she is lucky enough to find free time, she enjoys following Purdue basketball, mountain bike riding, spoiling her horses, hiking, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
Dr. Clint Peacock grew up locally
in Fairmount, Indiana and obtained a BS in Animal Sciences in 2018 and a Doctor
of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2022, both from Purdue University. Growing up on a grain farm, Dr. Peacock was
heavily involved in 4-H from a young age.
This included a particular interest in showing pigs, having shown them
competitively throughout Indiana and the Midwest and, during undergrad, co-owning
a 20-sow showpig operation. While at
Purdue University, Dr. Peacock was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Agricultural
Fraternity and served on a variety of other committees and clubs, including the
Animal Sciences Ambassadors, the Purdue Agricultural Council, the Indiana
Junior Swine Circuit and was the
President of the Purdue Chapter of the Student American Veterinary Medical
Association. During his summer breaks of
college, Dr. Peacock worked as a veterinary assistant here at Alexandria Animal
Hospital.

Regan grew up and lives in Anderson, Indiana. She resides with her husband and their dog named Boba. She found her passion for animals when she was young when she would help her grandmother foster and care for several dogs. A dream she can’t wait to continue by adding more into her family when they relocate to a larger home.
Outside of work, Regan enjoys wood burning, painting and crafts.
